Many Feared Dead as Building Collapses in Kano

A two-storey building in Kano collapsed on today Tuesday, 30th August trapping some people inside while six people were rescued alive.

Construction was underway when the building collapsed.

It is situated in the Kano city along the well-known Beirut road beside Ibrahim Taiwo road.

Saminu Yusuf, a spokesman for the Kano State Fire Service, who confirmed the number of casualties and those who were saved, said the rescue effort is still on.

Several individuals are trapped under the collapsing building, an eyewitness.
