Maigari of Lokoja, Maikarfi III Dies At Age Of 80
The head of the Lokoja traditional council, Maigari, passed away on September 28 at the age of 80 after a short illness at a private hospital in Abuja, according to information from the palace.
The king will be buried in Lokoja on Thursday, September 29, at 3 p.m., according to a statement made on Wednesday night by Muhammed Nalado Usman, secretary of the Lokoja Local Government Traditional Council.
The king, who ascended to the throne in 1992, is said to have been one of Kogi State’s longest-serving traditional heads of state until his passing.
He was also a prominent and well-respected traditional leader in the nation.
