Lionel Messi Becomes The Only Player To Score Against 39 Different Champions League Teams
After scoring the first goal against Maccabi Haifa in the Champions League on Wednesday night, September 14, Lionel Messi has now racked up two more records.
Paris Saint-forward Germain’s scored the game’s first goal in the 37th minute, and the French powerhouses went on to defeat Israel 3-1 to win Group H.
Messi has now surpassed Cristiano Ronaldo in another slightly peculiar record, becoming the only player to score in 18 straight Champions League seasons.
He previously shared the record with Manchester United’s star, who has a tally of 38 teams, while Maccabi Haifa became the 39th Champions League team Messi has scored against in the competition on Wednesday night.
