ICPC Arrests D’Banj Over Alleged N-Power Fraud
Singer, D’banj has been arrested by Independent Corrupt Practices and other related offences Commission (ICPC), for alleged N-power fraud.
Exclusively reported by premium times, the singer was arrested after ICPC closed in on him in Abuja, after he has dodged summons for weeks.
The singer is alleged to have diverted hundreds of millions of naira earmarked by the Nigerian government for the N-power project.
It is alleged that D’banj, in partnership with some compromised government officials, created ghost accounts and beneficiaries of the scheme, which have bern linked to the singer.
After prolonged interrogation, his plea for administrative bail was rejected as officials say they do not trust him enough to appear in court willingly, if released on bail, as he avoided invitations for weeks.
