Building Collapse In Mushin: Four People Dead, Rescued — NEMA

According to the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), the building collapse at Oye Sonuga Street and Palm Avenue in Mushin, Lagos, resulted in the deaths of four people and the rescue of one.

In a telephone interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), Mr. Ibrahim Farinloye, the NEMA South West Zonal Coordinator, revealed this.

In the building fall, he said that one person was saved and that two men and two women died.

The Lagos State Government has already declared its intention to look into the cause of the building collapse.

This was said in a statement provided to NAN by the Commissioner for Physical Planning and Urban Development, Mr. Omotayo Bamgbose-Martins.

He went to the location of the three-story structure, which was said to be roughly 40 years old, and ordered that it be demolished right once for safety reasons and to prevent further collapse.

He instructed the Lagos State Materials Testing Laboratory and the Lagos State Building Control Agency to determine what caused the collapse.
