2023 General Elections: Political Campaigns Commence Today

The formal start date for political party campaigns was set as September 28 by the Independent National Electoral Commission(INEC).

Starting today, 18 presidential candidates will start convincing Nigerians to support them and their political parties. At Aso Rock on May 29, 2023, the candidates will try to persuade the 96.3 million people of their rightfulness to succeed President Muhammadu Buhari.

The gubernatorial and State Assembly elections will take place on Saturday, March 11, 2023, after the presidential and National Assembly elections on Saturday, February 25, 2023, according to the schedule provided by INEC.

The candidates for presidency are Imumolen Christopher of the Accord Party (AP), Al Mustapha Hamza of the Action Alliance (AA), Omoyele Sowore of the African Action Congress (AAC), Kachikwu Dumebi of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Sani Yabagi of the Action Democratic Party (ADP), and Bola Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

APGA candidate Umeadi Chukwudi, the Allied Peoples Movement candidate Ojei Princess Chichi, the Action Peoples Party candidate Nnadi Osita, the Boot Party candidate Adenuga Oluwafemi, the Labour Party candidate Peter Obi, the New Nigeria Peoples Party candidate Rabiu Kwankwaso, the National Rescue Movement candidate Osakwe Johnson, the Peoples Democratic Party candidate Atiku Abubakar, the Peoples Redemption Party candidate Abiola
